In his speech, Mr. Trudeau said the Liberals’ decision to take on the Liberals for government was disappointing in part because the government had not demonstrated leadership on national security, human rights, civil liberties and environmental protections.
“We are at a turning point. We are at an important juncture. We need an international coalition, not just us, but everyone, to ensure that we do everything we can to achieve our goals. “We are not prepared to accept an international coalition of our leaders at this difficult time. It cannot happen in our lifetime,” he said.

It is simply not true. The Liberals are the international pariah,” said MP James Bezan, who led opposition.
The Liberal caucus had voted last weekend to try to block the bill, but the motion was defeated on Tuesday because Liberal MPs objected to giving the government more time to respond.
